Basset Display

John V Schultz ended their tent sale with a car show and a display of dressed up Basset Hounds. There were probably about twenty of them and each one was so incredibly cute that I laughed the whole time I was there. They are just so droopy but overly joyed to see you that they can barely contain themselves! Julianna knelt down to say hi to one and the dog gave her a hug! They all act like they are your long lost friend! It was a fun time and I talked to a lot of the owners while Julianna ran around playing with their dogs and feeding them treats. Let me tell you - those Basset owners are die hard! One lady said being their was like being in Heaven! I laughed when she said that but I really think she was serious...not quite what I pictured! One elderly gentleman was telling me about his Basset that he had to put down and he was just sobbing as he was telling me. I felt terrible for him and I almost wanted to hug him but thankfully his wife came back to comfort him before I was forced to. Another lady told me she had 6 foster Bassets and 3 of her own . . . okay that means she has 9 dogs!! She did say she had to get a new vacuum every year! That is a lot of slobber but I suppose that is also A LOT of love.
